In-demand Palermo attacker Javier Pastore will delay a decision on his future until after July’s 2011 Copa America in his native Argentina.Pastore was named in his country’s 26-man preliminary squad by manager Sergio Baptista on June 1, and will ignore speculation on his club future in order to concentrate on Argentina’s quest to win the tournament for the first time since 1993.
Pastore, 21, is reportedly in the sights of Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Inter Milan and Juventus after scoring 14 goals in 41 appearances for Serie A club Palermo in the 2010/11 campaign.
His price tag has been set at a hefty 44 million pounds, but the former Hurucan player will ignore speculation while on international duty.
“Going to Palermo was very important for my career and I hope to continue doing well over the next few years,” Pastore told Sky Sport Italia.
“My future will be decided after the Copa America. I will talk with president Maurizio Zamparini and my agent. Then we’ll work out what to do.”
