Tottenham take on Liverpool in the Premier League this Saturday and having lost to Watford prior to the international break, there will be plenty of focus on Mauricio Pochettino’s team selection.
The Argentine got it bang on during this fixture last season, fielding a 3-5-2 formation to mastermind a 4-1 win at Wembley, so who should be involved in his setup this time around?
Perhaps the most contentious positions in the Tottenham team are the full-backs, with two impressive options to choose from on either side, especially considering how important they are to Pochettino’s style of play.
On the left, there’s a decision to make between England international Danny Rose and Ben Davies – who featured in the shock loss at Vicarage Road.
We put that exact conundrum to Spurs fans earlier this week and the results of our poll are incredibly telling, with a staggering 85% of those who took part seemingly desperate for Rose to return to the starting XI at the 41-cap Welshman’s expense.
In fairness, Rose would bring much greater penetration and offensive threat to Tottenham’s left flank.
Perhaps that isn’t the smartest move up against Liverpool’s potent winger Mohamed Salah, but the Egyptian international will definitely leave space behind him for Rose to exploit on the counter-attack.
