Ronaldo’s future had been the subject of intense speculation, especially after FIFA president Gianni Infantino acknowledged the possibility of the forward featuring in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to be hosted in the United States. However, Ronaldo himself has confirmed that while multiple offers were made by participating clubs, he opted to remain loyal to Al-Nassr.
WHAT RONALDO SAID
After the announcement was made, Ronaldo wrote on Instagram: "A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together. 🟡🔵"
DID YOU KNOW?
Despite his individual brilliance on the pitch, Ronaldo’s presence has not yet translated into silverware for Al-Nassr. The club wrapped up their most recent Saudi Pro League campaign with a disappointing 3-2 loss to Al-Fateh, which consigned them to a third-place finish, 13 points adrift of title-winners Al-Ittihad. It has now been five years since Ronaldo last lifted a domestic league title, a drought that stretches back to his days at Juventus. While he has consistently found the back of the net, with 99 goals in just 111 appearances, team success has been hard to come by in Riyadh.
