Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has confirmed a fresh new injury to Luke Shaw ahead of the Red Devils' FA Cup clash against Leicester City.

Shaw's career has always been derailed by injuries since he burst onto the scene as a promising left-back at Southampton. Regardless, the England international has been able to make a name for himself as a reliable full-back on the international circuit thanks to his performances with Manchester United and the Three Lions. So far this season, Shaw has only played thrice in all competitions and is yet to make an appearance under Amorim following the Portuguese coach's takeover from Erik ten Hag.

Shaw was set to return to fitness over the next week, making him available for selection in Manchester United's upcoming clashes. However, boss Amorim has now revealed that the 29-year-old has picked up yet another injury 'in a different area' and will keep him on the recovery table for another few weeks.

Speaking to the media, Amorim said: “Luke has one small issue in the different area from the last injury, so we try to be careful with Luke."

The England international's injury is reported to be a 'minor' issue, however, Manchester United are said to be cautiously approaching Shaw's recovery.
