Per , Barcelona are interested in a January deal for Rashford, after the club met the 1:1 rule in La Liga, allowing them to strengthen in the winter window. Barca are said to have identified the England star as a target and hope to loan him until June 30. It remains to be seen if United would be willing to countenance such a deal, and there is rival interest from AC Milan.

If Barca are to sign Rashford, they will have to free up salary space first. Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo and Ansu Fati are all deemed expendable by the club, and January exits for all three would allow them to move for United's exiled ace.

Rashford has not played for United in the Premier League since December 7, when they lost 3-2 to Nottingham Forest. Since then, he has been on the bench once, and has been excluded from the squad on four occasions. United have targeted a deal for Paris Saint-Germain star Randal Kolo Muani as a potential replacement for Rashford.
