Kansas City Current, who were formed in 2020, have won their first major title in their brief history. The only other trophy the club won was the now-defunct NWSL x LigaMX Femenil Summer Cup in 2024. This was also head coach Vlatko Andonovski's first Shield. He had previously won the NWSL Championship with FC Kansas City.
Seattle Reign lose seventh the season
It was Seattle's seventh loss of the 2025 NWSL season. The club are still in contention to secure a playoff spot, although their gap to ninth-placed Houston Dash has been reduced to four points.
