Speaking to The Mirror, Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has shared his views on the Reds’ transfer dealings this summer.
The Scotland international emerged as arguably the best left-back in Europe after his efforts last term, in which he notched 11 Premier League assists and helped the Merseysiders become European champions – their sixth major European Cup win.
It has been a quiet summer for Jurgen Klopp’s side since that famous night in Madrid, however.
Only three new players have been signed, none of whom are expected to immediately influence the first team given the fact that two of them – Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg – are teenagers, whilst the other is 35-year-old goalkeeping cover Andy Lonergan.
What did Robertson say?
The former Hull man said: “For us, the most important thing was keeping all our players, and we’ve managed to do that. have all stayed together, and that’s a big thing.
“It’s about sticking together and getting even more familiar with each other. We’ve had players that have been in their first seasons – Keita and Fabinho, their first season is over now and they’ve settled in, so I’m sure they will be looking to kick on and so will everyone else.”

These Liverpool fans need to stop complaining
If Robertson is happy with the transfer business this summer, why can’t these Liverpool fans be?
A section of the Anfield faithful have been complaining about the lack of business this summer, and whilst the Reds do not possess the same squad depth as the likes of Manchester City, the reasons to moan should be minimal if Robertson and Klopp himself are happy with things how they are.
This squad earned a club-record 97 points in the league and became European champions, and have massive talents such as Ki-Jana Hoever and Rhian Brewster seemingly ready to step up and help the first team.
Everyone loves a new signing or two, but moaning about no first-team arrivals to the extent that some Liverpool fans have been doing is unnecessary.
