As reported by Spanish outlet Gol Digital, Manchester United are one of the teams interested in signing Marco Asesnio this summer, with the player considering his future at Real Madrid.
What’s the story?
Asensio started just half of Madrid’s La Liga matches last term, despite making 55 appearances for the club in all competitions, demonstrating that his place in the starting eleven isn’t exactly secure as they transition to a new manager.
Gol Digital report that the player is now considering an exit from the Bernabeu, with the prospect of new signings this summer set to reduce his playing time further.
The outlet reckon that Manchester United are ready to capitalise and will battle with the likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.
Rated at £67.5m by Transfermarkt, can Jose Mourinho convince him that his future lies at Old Trafford?

Would he be a good signing for United?
Still just 22 years of age, Asensio appears to have all the potential in the world having made the breakthrough into the Madrid set-up and also the Spanish national team.
With 21 goals and 10 assists in 91 appearances, many of which have been from the bench, for the La Liga side, he’s proven he can be an effective presence on the left flank and in attacking midfield at the elite level.
United are crying out for more creativity in the final third to support Romelu Lukaku and Asensio could be the solution. His key pass average of 1.6 per game is up there with the likes of Isco, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric in the Madrid squad, as demonstrated by Whoscored.
In order to hit the next level under Mourinho, United should be ruthlessly targeting unsettled players at the big teams around Europe and with Asensio reportedly unhappy with the amount of first team football he is getting, they can’t afford to pass up this opportunity.
