The winter transfer window is slowly but surely getting closer and teams are already on the lookout for potential reinforcements come January next year.
Barcelona, just like many other big teams, had quite a busy summer – many players joined and many departed the club but it seems the Blaugrana are not done spending just yet.
In fact, according to Sport, the Catalan giants have taken great interest in Inter Milan’s 24-year-old midfielder, Stefano Sensi.

Sensi was actually already introduced to the Camp Nou crowd earlier this season when the Nerazzurri visited Catalonia on the second matchday of the Champions League and it seems that he left quite an impression.
The same source claims that Barcelona are big fans of the player and that they would be looking to lure him away from Inter.
As Sport mention, Sensi definitely is a big star in making – he’s still young but already well-developed and more importantly, it seems that he would suit the Blaugrana quite nicely with his skill set.

But looking strictly at their squad and their needs, do Barcelona really have to pursue another midfielder?
Let’s not forget that their middle of the pitch is already overbooked as it is – seeing how there are eight players fighting for three spots – and as a direct result of that, the likes of Carles Alena and Riqui Puig can’t even get a sniff of any first-team action and even stars like Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal have been struggling to get minutes.
Surely the focus of their future transfers should be in alternative positions; adding another midfielder can only be a step in the wrong direction.
If anything, this only raises additional questions about their transfer policy as a whole.
Earlier they were also linked with a new striker despite buying Antoine Griezmann just months ago and now they want to add more midfielders into a squad that already has one too many.
All of this suggests there’s no clear plan to follow and if true, it could also pose quite a lot of trouble for the Catalans moving forward.
For all the obvious qualities Sensi possesses, he is not the one they should be targeting come winter transfer window.
