Liverpool star Jordan Henderson is set to miss the club’s clash against Arsenal on Monday with a foot injury, according to reports from NBC Sports.
Henderson was taken off in the Reds’ last fixture against Bournemouth early in the second half, and it was thought that the captain would recover in time for their big game against the Gunners.
However, the 25-year-old seems to be fighting a losing battle and he himself admitted that he is uncertain it is worth the risk of sustaining a long-term injury.

“I have done something with my heel so every time I sort of plant my foot, whether I’m running or walking, I can feel it,” he said. “It has settled down over the last few days but I don’t know what it will be like in terms of Monday.”
“Hopefully it settles down some more. I just have to keep doing what I have been told to do by the physios in terms of treatment and hopefully it gets better.
“If I do play what is the risk and how long could I be out potentially if I do something in the game? That is the problem. There are many factors that the manager and the medical team need to decide.”
The injury to the England international could cause Liverpool to keep hold of defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva, despite the Brazilian being heavily linked with Besiktas and Inter Milan.
The Reds got their Premier League campaign off to a good start, beating Stoke City 1-0 in their first fixture and Bournemouth in their second with the same score-line.
Last season, Henderson made 54 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and supplying 15 assists.
