In the fallout of Andy Gray’s and Richard Keys’ sexist comments in regards to female assistant referee Sian Massey, Gray has been given the boot by Sky Sports. As you’ll know by now, the pair said that female officials “did not know the offside rule” when they were off air pre-Premier League encounter between Wolves and Liverpool at Molineux at the weekend. Further to this there was footage of Gray talking off-air with Sky Sports’ pitchside reporter Andy Burton about female officials. Sky said they terminated Gray’s contract “in response to new evidence of unacceptable and offensive behaviour”. So Sky have decided to take the ultimate punishment and relieve Andy Gray of his job, but was it the right decision to let Gray go?
