One win from four Premier League games this season. Arsenal may have been decent for large spells against the champions, Manchester City, but once again Arsene Wenger’s men failed to take a win against a top of the table enemy.
But is that a surprise? We at FFC Towers think not, as we actually feel that the Gunners are not in the title battle, and here are three reasons why…

Welbeck is not title quality
Much was made of Danny Welbeck’s arrival and his perceived quality for a title push. And it appears that Louis van Gaal’s talk of his record in comparison to other top players may be hitting home early. The England international had a big chance to open the scoring early on, but he didn’t show the lethal edge needed as he clipped a clever chip onto the post. Moments later Sergio Aguero pushed home the opener, showing the difference quality between Arsenal and the champions.
Ozil is still struggling
Mesut Ozil cost £42.5m last summer and was dubbed one of the best players on the plant (the above shows a glimpse of why). But since he’s been in the Arsenal shirt, the German has struggled. Today was no different as Ozil once again failed to make a major impact on a big game as he drifted in and (mostly) out of the spotlight.
Could not keep the lead
After dropping behind Arsenal showed real spirit to haul themselves back and take a shock lead through Alexis Sanchez… But, once again in a big game, the Gunners let the elusive victory escape them as Martin Demichelis crashed in a fine header. The Londoners have just one win from four league games this season, which is frustrating their fans.
Typical arsenal can’t keep a lead
