Haaland has said: “I’m excited to join the Beats family, a brand that has long been a part of my pre-match routine as an athlete. Family is important to me, and this campaign and partnership really speak to that.” Haaland’s father, Alfie, also features in the new Beats campaign – along with James’ wife Savannah – that serves to hammer home the message that brilliance cannot be contained or stopped.

The video, which features Beats’ new Studio series as Erling and LeBron wear Beats Studio Pro and Savannah and Alfie wear Beats Studio Buds+, sees Haaland senior say of his son: “Building you up just so that they can knock you down.” He goes on to say “make them fear you and turn the whole damn city blue… again”, with City having wrestled dominance in Manchester – and across English football – away from arch-rivals United.
